About

Levelling the Playing Field for Radical People

I am deeply committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the jobs they deserve. Since joining Radical, I’ve witnessed how affordable and easy-to-implement changes can dramatically transform the way brands attract, engage with, recruit, and develop talent. Diverse talent adds immense value in today’s increasingly competitive recruitment market, and I believe even the smallest changes can have a significant impact.

Some of the changes I advocate for include

  • Implementing a “No Salary History” Policy – This levels the playing field by ensuring pay equity and reducing bias in salary negotiations.
  • Adopting Blind Shortlisting Methods – This eliminates unconscious bias during the recruitment process, ensuring a fairer selection of candidates.
  • Making Reasonable Adjustments for Disabled Job Seekers – By providing accommodations, we create an inclusive environment that welcomes all candidates.
  • Gender Decoding Job Adverts – This ensures the language used in job adverts is inclusive and appealing to a broader range of candidates.

In my experience, the notion of a ‘talent shortage’ only exists for businesses that are unwilling to rethink their traditional recruitment methods. By embracing more Radical approaches, companies can tap into a wealth of diverse talent that would otherwise be overlooked.

My Journey with Radical

Officially, I joined the Radical team in May 2022. However, my journey with Radical started much earlier, in 2020, during the lockdown. As a single mum, working full-time, and home-schooling two children, I volunteered my “free” time to assist Radical candidates with CV writing and interview preparation.

Over the past two years, I’ve become an integral part of the Radical team, bringing with me over a decade of recruitment experience and a strong passion for all things EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) and employer branding.

Current Role and Responsibilities

Today, I lead the way in recruitment marketing, working closely with our partners as a critical friend. My focus is on helping them

  • Market Themselves Effectively – Ensuring they attract candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Enhance Processes and Policies – Making necessary improvements to accommodate a diverse range of candidates.

If your job adverts aren’t attracting the right people, I’m here to help. I specialize in

  • Professional Recruitment – Collaborating with partners to source the UK’s most diverse candidates with the skills, experience, and aptitude to excel in their businesses.
  • Sourcing People-Centric Roles – Finding the right talent for roles in recruitment, human resources, marketing, operations, sales, EDI, social value, ESG, and finance.
